As the name suggests Wild celery is closely related to cultivated celery, even smelling and tasting similar. It can be used to flavour food. Found mainly in damp coastal places, often in association with tussac grass. It has a stout tap root and depending on its situation, can grow to up to 80 cm (30 inches). Native and widespread on East and West Falkland in coastal areas. It is also found in Southern South America, Tristan da Cunha, New Zealand and SE Australia.
